About Special Needs Kids
Special Needs Kids website was created after ten years of searching without success for information about special needs products and disabled services for our 12 year old daughter Sophie, who has complex special needs and learning disabilities. Sophie is the second of three children, we also have a 15 year old daughter and a son who is 10 years old.
We hope you enjoy browsing and find it helpful. We welcome any suggestions or contributions and we are happy to include anything that you think may be of interest or use to other parents. The 'What's New' and 'Notice Board' pages will keep you up to date with the latest news and on other pages you will find information on products for the disabled, events and campaigns, support groups, respite care, clothing, equipment, liesure activities and days out, holidays, disabled services, help with the disabled and much more.
The aim of this website is to provide information about products and services that are available to families and carers of disabled children. All too often there is a frustrating lack of choice or products are extremely expensive. We have a library of information which we have gathered from suppliers themselves, the internet, catalogues, families, trade fairs and personal experience.
