Sho Me Da Money!
SRC had a contest during Jack Proehl's presentation at the Where 2.0 Conference this morning in San Jose. In a nutshell, Jack threw out a challenge to the audience to go to SRC's website, register for a developer token to their API, find info on creating a mashup with their technology, then build and deploy a solution using their API...all during his 15 minute presentation.
Now, as if that we not enough pressure, Jack turned up the heat and let us know that one person at a previous conference was able to perform this task in its entirety in about 5 minutes...
So...he said "go" and I was off to the races. I really didn't think I'd win...or even finish the task. Especially at an O'Reilly open source conference! These folks are hard core. I feel like I'm in a room with 500 Joe Mocerno's and that there was no way I would be able to win this thing. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Joe…he’s a kid (no offense Joe) that I hired at the previous agency I was at that was, hands down, the most productive developer on our staff. While he was very green and very raw, he simply got sh*t done.
