- Employment: My first job after completing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering was at the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA. There I worked in the Electromagnetic Technology Organization ofwhat was then called Boeing Aerospace. After obtaining an MBA in 1992, I went to work for Exxon Chemical in Linden, NJ. My first academic position, which began in 1998, was as a visiting professor at MIT's Sloan School of Management. I ended up staying another 5 years as a tenure-track professor. In 2005 I took a job teaching at the American University of Sharjah, just outside of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My work as an academic is very rewarding and I don't think I'll ever return to the private sector.
