Toronto Zinas is the world’s only bilingual Latvian e-zine. Each issue discusses the latest news relevant to Latvian Canadians, links to interesting Latvian sites and stories, and presents feisty opinion pieces on current events. The site’s core is the Events Calendar – a free service listing all Latvian-related events in the Greater Toronto Area. Regular articles include Mara Gulens’ Editor’s Note, News Briefs (snapshots of recent events in Latvia and “trimda” (the Latvian community outside Latvia), World Perspectives (links to world press stories), stories on top events in Latvian culture, politics, music and sports, Savvy Surfing (a listing of top-rated Latvian Web sites), information on travel to Riga, and Letters to the Editor. TZ's annual listings include: Regular Events in Toronto, The Great Christmas Wish List, Summer Camps and Schools, and Where to Celebrate Jani. TZ is published every two weeks from September to June.
