World-class art has found a new home in western North Carolina! The Turchin Center for the Visual Arts fulfills a long-held dream for Appalachian State University, as great works of art - as well as the artists who create them - find a new home and gathering place within the spectacular Rosen Galleries, as well as the studios and outdoor sculpture gardens of this magnificent building in the heart of downtown Boone, North Carolina.
The largest visual arts center in northwestern North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, and southwestern Virginia, the Turchin Center's exhibitions will focus on a blend of new and historically important art work and will feature works of nationally and internationally renowned artists, as well as many of the finest artists of the region.
Befitting a university-based visual arts center is an emphasis on teaching, and it is the Turchin Center s teaching mission which makes its programming mix so exciting.
