UKTrainSim aims to offer a central resource for modelers to gather together and share their experience, information and other resources such as technical data, specifications and even photographs.
It is not our aim to be a central public access file repository - they cost far too much in Bandwidth to run - however we will be providing a file repository for which only very limited access will be available to non-premium members to the service. Membership is quite cheap and will help make sure this site does not get shut down due to excessive bandwidth utilisation. The control of this library will be a highly advanced system that should enable collaboration between modelers and users a-like, you say what you want and they say what they are doing and hopefully everyone will meet up in the middle.
We are hoping to compliment, not compete with or try to replace, other Train Sim websites that are on the Internet. Our focus is on modeling rolling stock, activities and routes specifically in the UK and later on perhaps moving in to Europe (one of our team is very much a fan of the Finnish). How far we go and what we do beyond the UK will very much depend on how successful the site is and what demand there is for expansion in to Europe.
