I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and have lived most of my life in California and for the past 20 years in beautiful, sunny Carlsbad. We chose to live here because of the relaxed lifestyle, the numerous recreational choices, and the award-winning school system. The beautiful San Diego coastline also boasts miles of sandy beaches and arguably the best year round climate anywhere.

Melissa, my wife and partner, and I have been married for over thirty years and we have two college-aged children, Andrea and Derek. Andrea is earning her Communications degree online and Derek is at San Jose State University working toward a degree in International Business.

Besides helping clients with their real estate needs, I enjoy dancing with Melissa-from fox trot to swing. We enjoy Jazzercise classes, dining out together, weekend getaways, or entertaining at home with family and friends. We attend Daybreak Community Church and are active in leading our own small group ministry.

I attended the United States Naval Academy, then worked in the private sector prior to becoming a Realtor®. After a few years, I obtained my brokers license while working as the sales director of a large mortgage company. I have worked toward advanced designations to enhance my knowledge and ability to better serve my clients, including the GRI (Graduate, Realtor® Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), and the e-Pro (technology specialist) designations. I am a member in good standing in our trade associations including NAR (National Association of Realtors®), CAR (California Association of Realtors®, and locally the NSDCAR (North San Diego County of Realtors®).

I serve on our Ethics and Professional Standards Committee to ensure fair and ethical treatment is given to the general public and among our members and that our association members adhere to our Realtor Code of Ethics.
