Patrick O’Reilly’s early military career was challenging. In the First Cavalry Division, he supported one of the largest US Army winter deployments to Europe in the Cold War. Later, Patrick O’Reilly commanded the maintenance support for combat units deployed on the East German border. Based on his leadership potential, Patrick O’Reilly was promoted early to the rank of Major, selected for graduate education, became an Associate Professor of Physics, and appointed to the Army Acquisition Corps.
