Category:Collegiate Shag
Collegiate Shag is a form of swing dancing with some noticeable similarities to Balboa. It is believed to be based on the Foxtrot and was popular in the '20s and '30s with, as its name suggests, college students. It is danced to up tempo jazz music in closed position. Later versions of shag were Carolina Shag and St. Louis Shag. Shag leads commonly have their left/lead hand held straight up over their head with lead and follow's elbows touching.
