Description

For my fiancee Lisa's bridal shower party, my mother cut out wedding and golden anniversary photos from a local newspaper feature, and mixed them up for two teams to try to match. It was harder than the guests expected! Everyone had a great time with the game, and more importantly, it inspired a lot of discussion among the young women about marriage as the beginning of a lifetime of commitment. Playing the bridal shower party game together helped bridge the gap between the different generations. Because of the enthusiastic response, we decided to turn the idea into a real product that we could offer to families all over the country who are celebrating weddings and anniversaries.

To make this game, we went and met many delightful 50th anniversary couples and asked them what kept their marriages together. We have added stories about each couple to provide a few clues to matching their photos. The stories have become conversation starters: funny ways the couples met, how they have or have not changed over time, and their advice for achieving a long, happy marriage.

We incorporated Sebesta Enterprises, applied for a patent, and decided to call the game "You Haven't Changed a Bit!" Sales steadily increased through 2006. Our customers have found our game extends further than just a wedding or bridal shower party game idea. They continue to buy more games as wedding gifts or as an anniversary party game.
