After all my ferocious dislike for Kellie Pickler on American Idol, not to mention my more general hatred of crappy mainstream country-pop music, I'm kind of ashamed to tell you this. But Kellie's first single, "Red High Heels," finally makes me understand the term "infectious." (As applied to pop music, that is. I'm sure my medically-inclined friends have a slightly different definition.) It's a ridiculously adorable song. I mean, admit it, girls: it's really hard to resist a "Ha ha, ex-boyfriend, I'm totally over you!" song anyway, and this one is particularly cute. So very Kellie, too. I can actually envision some stupid boy back in Albemarle kicking himself. It's not good music, and I'm still not planning to buy her CD, and I'm still irritated that Pickler got a record deal when my Elliott didn't. But damn, that song is catchy.
