Description
The Tower contains a ring of 8 bells; the weight of the tenor is 10 1/4 cwt, installed in 1977 by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry. The metal for seven of the bells came from Immanuel Church, Streatham, the remaining bell the number 3, was already in the tower, cast from metal which may date from the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. More information about the bell can be found on the history pages of the website,
For several months past a 1/4 Peal has been rung by a band arranged by Nick Simon on the 3rd and 5th Sundays in the month.
On Sunday 29th January 2006 a visiting band rang on our bells a true and complete peal of Yorkshire Surprise Major consisting of 5152 changes in 2 hours and 52 minutes to welcome the new vicar of Chelsea Old Church the Reverend Canon David Reindorp to this living.
