theboxtank to take a break
theboxtank will be going quiet. A visit to Nebraska next week will make writing difficult. But more important, the situation in New Orleans and the surrounding areas is more fucked up than one can comprehend. Big-boxes and suburbs, and much everything else, are trivial in comparison. This isn't the place to try and understand what is happening in New Orleans, and what is NOT happening. We'll leave that to those with a more eloquent voice.
There will be a time to write about the future of New Orleans, but that time is not now. Hopefully others (bloggers, journalists, architects, politicians), can have a little restraint and put off the debate that will ensue. Especially when the worst is still in front of us and the dead have not yet all died. The scope of what has happened is far from being understood and what we know right now was understood too half-ass and too late.
