Kristina: Just found AboutUs.org and love it! I'm part way through my learning curve (see my history page!) and figuring out how to upload the content. Thanks for the warm welcome! Byron

Hi Kristina,
this is Andreas (Andpno) - thanks for your warm welcome. Dancing: as I am a jazz pianist, I just let my fingers dance on the keys.
In fact, I've got quite a bunch of questions about AboutUs - and I'm not yet sure if the wiki concept will work for me.
I 'stumbled' over AboutUs while 'googling' for a friend's website. I can't guess if he knows about being part of AboutUs (I've got to ask him),
as if you've got a website and somebody inputs your url into the search field of AboutUs, you will automatically get
part of it (without even knowing). While at the same time anybody can edit the DomainPage in every way, there could
be lots of incorrect information there (to put it politely) ... but let's Assume Good Faith... by the way: as I'm used to writing html code, I like the 'poor man's html' that AboutUs provides for the users (I really do).
Some questions that arised...
- Is it possible to exclude an url from getting subject of an AboutUs DomainPage?
- Since the articles in every category are ordered alphabetically, and some of the categories are huge lists (e.g. 10,000 entries starting with A...): is there any means to skip everything prior to say 'T'? (Couldn't find any 'Initial' buttons to do so)
- 'Related Pages': This part of the DomainPage didn't seem to be generated automatically by AboutUs (robots), so am I supposed to search for DomainPages with related content, and then edit 'my' DomainPage by inputting that Page in 'my' Page's RelatedPages zone, and at the same time edit that Page's RelatedPages zone by inputting 'my' page? (could you say that again, please;-)
('mine', 'yours' etc. don't seem to be adequate terms in a wiki context, I guess... but I'm rather new to wiki) - If I think there are some categories not listed in the 'categories' section of a DomainPage (e.g. 'mine') that I think should be, am I supposed to add those to the section? Will this add 'my' Page to the listed articles of that categories?
Please be patient with a (previous) non-wikiist (and non-native speaker as well...)
I'd love to hear from you - Andreas Andpno 07:55, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
- Normally I wouldn't answer questions on someone else's talk page, but Kristina is working part-time these days and not sure she'll be able to answer this before Tuesday, so I'm going to go ahead and answer on Andreas's talk page. TedErnst | talk 08:27, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
a new idea!
Hey Kristina, what do you think about this as juxstaposed to editing two pages for each welcome? Look forward to seeing what ideas you have around it on Monday! :-) Best, MarkDilley
Mutleymaid.com
Actually Kristina, re: Mutleysmaid.com, muttleymaid.com, mutleymaid.com I think that the Pet Butler archive (Robert Shurtleff's actual html build on that site, not a redirect) should be deleted and if you all can't do that, then you're promoting this guy's cybersquatting activities by allowing the reference to give his websites' some sort of credibility and adding to the damage caused to my company. I am the rightful owner of that mark, not Pet Butler.I am not commenting on those entries, I want them deleted!-Leslie, Muttley's Maid

- You've done the best thing possible that you can do from AboutUs.org to make known what you believe about the current domain owner's practices. You have a descriptive CommunityReview there and I added Template:PossibleCybersquatter for you. AboutUs.org has 6 million + DomainPages of this nature, i.e. articles about web sites. Them being here (or not) says nothing of an alliance we have with the site, domain owner or their practices. We are a growing resource about the entire web, a place for the community at large to contribute what they know about a given web site as you have done. Kristina
Dear kristina,
thank you for the note, will take care about those domain pages later. thank you and do not hesitate to contact me about any doubts you have,[www.ernestech.com/contact.html] my first wave of questions I will try to answer by myself to prevent me to using your probably valuable time. then may be will ask a couple of questions, I think those questions will be profound enough to merit a personal response from you, no need for long answers, I'm a IT guy so can understand techie talk, actually, there is one arising right now. feel free to pass it to the right person. I'm using mozilla firefox 2.0.0.7 , also trien IE6 and the web browsing experience is not the best (talking about visualization of the fonts) because there is some deformity in the fonts the machine generating the pages is using, perhaps would be more visual exciting to use another font. again, let me assure you, there is nothing bad with my machine, will try in other five machines I own and let you know ok? bye!!.also will try to do some captures.

Please repopulate TEEKSOFT.COM
Please delete and repopulate TEEKSOFT.COM. It is no longer a ParkingLot. --Eohippus 00:10, 15 October 2007 (PDT)

RC party (Old School)
Hey Kristina,
I'm not sure if you're online (although the presence meter thinks so). The RC is backed up and I can't get UberPatrol to load, so I'm going to rock the RC for a bit the old fashioned way. If you're doing RC, can you pop on the IRC and let me know where you're at (or leave a talk message)? And if you're not doing RC or aren't even on AboutUs right now, that sounds way more fun than what I'm doing and I'm jealous.

Hi Kristina! Thanks for the message. Most sites like this one usually send you an automatic message. But yours was personalized, and that made me feel a lot safer. I have one question, and that is; "Is there a profile/Personal page that you can make?" If so, please tell me how. Thank you soo much for sending me a message and making this site safe. Sincerely, Roxanne Simmons-Lewis
Hi I seen your website on a yahoo search page and I was intrigued, since it was under the same category as myspace, facebook, and others. I am slightly confused what this website is for. I thought it was social networking type thing. am i wrong?
Hi. Thank you for the welcome.
Kristina,
Hi. Thank you for your kind welcome. However, I would not be the swing dancer that you are thinking of. The closest I come to that would be performing shadow dancing on stage at CBGB's in New York City during the 1980's. Most of my fame came before your time. I hope to chat more at a later time. I am back in college and have exams to prepare for, so the free time I have is short. With Warmth. Steve. Stevenmitchell 16:37, 16 October 2007 (PDT)
Got my article back
The guy has agreed to cease vandalism on my article so I am ready to come back and be a productive member of About Us again. I was wondering how can I get that thumbnail screenshot back on the article? --Xander756 17:52, 16 October 2007 (PDT)
language tweak
Hi Kristina, I made the change! If you want to also, that would be cool :-) [1] Best, MarkDilley
