About the Author

Hi! My name is Jonathan Fenocchi and I’m the mind behind the madness here at Slightly Remarkable. I’m a seventeen-year-old professional web developer and programmer, working my way to the top. My own interests, in no particular order, include:

Finishing 11th grade, I am a novice guitar/drum player and highly experienced doodler (art class didn’t seem to do me much good, I regret to say). My passion, however, lies in the beauty of web design and power of computer technology. I see web design as an art form, and as such it should be respected and treated appropriately. (Incidentally, be sure to let me know if you need a web site.)

I’m also a devoted follower of web standards. I believe that technologies should be regulated but not limited. In other words, to a certain extent, compatibility is (or at least should be) a requirement. Extended features of particular technologies, however, are (and should be) features exclusively. Those features should only become standardized if they are practical. Because of this strong belief (a sort of “web religion”), I am dedicated to writing standardized code that adheres to the W3C’s specifications. (The W3C is the organization that regulates and standardizes the technologies of the Web.) In addition, my “web religion” implies obedience to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, also presented by the W3C. By following these standardizations, I can assert that my web site is accessible. By definition, an accessible web site’s content is available regardless of the device accessing it. This means that my sites will work cross-browser and cross-platform (that is, assuming every device is also abiding by the W3C standards in its interpretation of the code I write, and most often this is the case). This is what makes standardization such a powerful tool in the information resource that is the Internet.
