Anna Kelly writes: "I wanted to say that since I joined Today's Woman Writing Community, my whole outlook has been broadened through the poems I have read and my awareness of the lives of people of other countries has increased. I've learnt about the troubles in Ghana, India and Lebanon from a personal standpoint. I have read of the horrendous treatment of women in India, the grief of a someone at the destruction of her native Lebanon and a vision for the future from a Ghanaian. This site is wonderful for it's cosmopolitan and multinational population and I see people coming together from many different countries with barriers non-existent. Then there are the friendships that have arisen from submitting comments or critiques of poems and stories and the ensuing correspondence via private messages, not forgetting to mention the poems themselves. They are indescribably wonderful and illuminating, without exclusion. They are an education in themselves. Rose DesRochers, you said you feel your purpose in life is "to make a lasting difference in someone's life". Well you've certainly done that to mine. So thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Orin Griffin writes: "Todays-Woman.net is a very inviting and exciting site. Visually, the site is a pleasure to look at, very organized and well thought out. The members are very warm and engaging, so you are taken in by the hospitality alone. I have only been a registered member of two sites, though I have been a guest to many, still I have not seen many sites that are as genuine and make one feel as comfortable as Today's-Woman. The variety on poets on the site is an education in itself. My ability to open up and be more aware of other issues, passions, fears and senses has grown since I have been on this site. It is a complete learning experience. I am working to publish and grow as a poet. Slowly, I am gathering many perspectives and becoming the writer I know that is in me. Todays-Woman.net has had a very meaningful effect on my pursuit of this goal."

Over the course of most of a week, Rose DesRochers facilitated the research of locating places where the 'poem thief' was posting stolen works. She was also instrumental in providing pivotal copyright information to myself and many others, who found their words with the plagiarist's own copyright attached to them.

Ms Rose DeRochers has also given expert and constructive advice to this novice ePublisher, for which I can not express how helpful this information has been and will no doubt be in the future. I highly recommend all writers, and possibly visual artists to explore Todays-Woman.net and join the community. Collaboration in any format is a beautiful thing, and Todays-Women.net collaborates in an administrative way that is simply unavailable except to perhaps, those willing to pay for university coursework."

Today's Woman Writing Community

Todays-Woman.net is a supportive online community for men and women over 18, which opened their doors Sept 19th 2002. Their goal is to help writers succeed in the writing industry by offering a useful selection of services including author interviews, regular columns, interactive forums, and a place for writers to share their work for critique by their peers.

Features

Today's Woman Writing Community is made up of those looking to be published, hobby writers, published authors & publishers themselves. The community is a wonderful one to be apart of.

Todays-Woman.net has a full online forum with over 56 communities built inside of it. They have writing lessons, a full directory of links to literacy resources, famous poets, online book store, book reviews and over 150 calls for submissions to help writers get published, plus many more features. Though the main focus of Today's Woman Writing Community at one time was a poetry community, they now cater to authors of short stories, song writers and web columnist. They have really opened their doors and broaden themselves to more than just poetry.

They have weekly writing contest that spark members' creativity and they examine different styles of writing. Rose DesRochers says, "I feel that Today's Woman Writing Community is a wonderful learning resource for writers."

They also do personal interviews. They have interviewed such big names as artists Phil Roberts and Jonathon Earl Browser, Country singer Andrew Dean and Children's author Robert Munsch.

Authors also have the ability to have their books reviewed for free by the Today's Woman Writing Community book review team.

Awards and Accolades

Over the last two years Today's Woman Writing Community has been one of the most visited writing communities on the internet. Ranked 6/10 by Google and Yahoo!, they continue to be the primary resource for writers, receiving an average of 7,197 to 10,276 hits a day.

The extensive developing of Todays-Woman.net has been rewarded with rave initial reviews. Alberto O. Cappas, Publisher of The New Tomorrow Newspaper ran a story in their Nov 2004 newspaper and Rose DesRochers appeared on Belleville, Ontario's Mix97 radio station discussing the community. They also received recognition this year as one of Writers Digest best 101 websites for writers.

Additional Information

The Todays-Woman.net system that was created by Invision-Graphics.com makes it easy for members to post, edit, delete, and receive comments on their submissions. They receive notification to their email inbox whenever someone comments on their work; in addition they have the chance to have their story or poem featured on the home page as top story or poem of the day.

Today's Woman Writing Community offers writers the opportunity to develop improved writing skills, receive feedback on their work, opportunity to win awards, chances to be recognized as poet of the month, resources to be published, challenges by their peers and so much more.

Because Today's Woman Writing Community is one of the most visited writing communities on the net, author's work will be read and they are guaranteed feedback.

Many of the members report that they have grown a lot in their writing since joining the Today's Woman Writing Community. The members receive high exposure, and a friendly support group that they will not find within other communities.

Free features offered to members include personal blogs for every member, online arcade, interactive forums, ecards , interactive story and poetry board, resume page and much more. Premium service comes with WYSIWYG Editor, ability to add backgrounds and images, Members Albums allowing unlimited space for photo uploads & storage, Members Webpages with upload and online editor, Messenger Services, Members Uploads for documents RTF, Word, E-Books, PDF Creator and Priority Technical Support.

L. Jody Kuchar writes: "As in all of life, e-life (web based work) has its good and its bad. Recently I have had the pleasure of meeting the good through the website Todays-Woman.net and Rose DeRochers.

Under no obligation to assist, Ms. Rose DeRochers assisted myself and a number of other author/poets in 'outing' some of the bad; a plagiarist with pathological tendencies. I stumbled across Todays-Woman.net by chance while researching an out of business print publisher of poetry anthologies.

Desiree Writt writes: "I stumbled across Todays-Woman when looking for some encouraging words for a family member going through some tough times and needed soothing words. What I got was much more. As I started looking more around this site, I had realized I found my dream poetry site. Not only can I read others poetry and stories, I could give them feedback and vote on how much the poem or story moved me. As a young writer trying to come up in the writing business, I thought this site would help me grow with all that Rose has going on in this community. When I posted my first poem, the feedback was amazing. Rose and everyone who commented me, have been so helpful in giving me advise, and have been very patient with me. I have learned and grown in my writing from the help of every one here. This community is just that, a community. We help, listen and interact with each other for many different reasons. We are a family, a family that I don’t have intention’s of leaving anytime soon. It is a pleasure to be here. And when other’s come for the first time, I hope they will feel the same.

Rose DesRochers says: "We are a community that cares about each other. Each member whether a beginning writer or a season writer is an asset to the community."

Thank you Rose

Dear Rose

I wanted to say that since I joined this site, my whole outlook has been broadened through the poems I have read and my awareness of the lives of people of other countries has increased.

You said you feel your purpose in life is "to make

A Place for Every Writer

I was recently invited to Today's Woman and have found it to be an excellent place for aspiring writers of all experience levels. Where many writers' groups feel remote and less than friendly to those just taking the first steps of their writing journeys, Today's Woman welcomes newcomers with warmth and sincerity.

The Today's Woman website offers articles, poems, and short stories written by both experienced and novice writers as well as forums filled with information that is easily accessible, and often invaluable to beginning writers.

Kudos to this site and its founders.

Judy Ramsook's Testimonial

When I first started submitting articles to the todays-woman.net website, I was looking for a different sort of website to send my work to. Something with a more professional look and feel, and that is exactly what I discovered and more. What I found was a plethora of useful articles by other writers about everything I always wanted to know about the writing world and didn’t know who to ask.

There are articles about writing query letters, short stories, character development for those book length plots and even advice about everyday things we take for granted. One such article is about why people lie, something I, myself have often wondered about but thought that no one knew the answer or if there were answers for people who do this on a regular basis. I am glad I started submitting articles to the todays-woman.net website. The articles, stories and poems submitted here are not for the squeamish. One must be 18 and over in order to do so.

Highly Recommended

I am an author who frequently contributes to this site and find the content from other contributors to be very appealing and useful in my own thinking and living; and the site style is very user-friendly, compared to many of the other writers sites to which I post. I frequently recommend Rose DesRoches site to other writers and readers who I associate with.” --William Cottringer, Ph.D. Author, Business Success Coach, Sport Psychologist and Photographer

A Better Than Excellent Review of Today's Woman Writing Community

Today's Woman has been a wonderful and creative outlet for my need to write and express myself with the written word. I have been a member now for maybe a year.

I have learned valuable lessons since joining TW. Writers more experienced than myself have taught me various tricks of the trade and critiqued my work with kindness yet boldness. Because of their honest feedback, not only have my writing skills improved, but I have gained many friends.

I would not want to write anywhere else. And the very best part of TW is the staff. They are not only kind, encouraging but also very helpful, more than willing to give of their time freely in order to help you become the writer you want to be. If writing is what you enjoy and you want to grow your skills, Today's Woman is the site you should be joining. Once you get here, you won't ever want to leave.

Best community on the web

What can one say about the interaction and the great talent that can be found at Todays-Woman? It would be hard to say anything without saying WoW and superb. As a member of this wondeful site I am often humbled at the amount of support that one can recieve here. There are so many great stories and so much wonderful poetry to read that it's like being inside a libary filled with books. The staff is very supportive and always willing to help any member where ever they can. I have visited many other sites and have some poems published there also but none have been more interactive or supportive as Todays-Woman has. Rose has been a great inspiration to me as have many others here. It is such a great feeling to know that when you post your work here that it will be read by others and that you will always recieve an honest review. I am very thankful that I was afforded the oppurtunity to be a part of this community and I have nothing but praise for all the hard work that has been put into i

Thanks Rose and company for a Great Site

Today's Woman has been a discovered joy for me, not only because they run my

stories and give me exposure on the web. It's far more. This site is like a family, a community. A community of writers who have the same dreams and goals. Writing can often be a lonely occupation, and thankless too. But these are people who will tell you what they think about your work, whether it's cutting edge poetry, advice, or entertainment. They offer encouragement and support. Very important to any writer. In addition to reading the different offerings, and responding to some of them, I also enjoy finding out about the members themselves, where they live, their outlook, and what they do. These are people you never would have met in person. Yet I feel I know them, by reading their stories, and looking at their pictures. I consider Today's Woman to be an important contribution to the writing profession, and a personal treasure for me because of its bringing together of people who love the w

A relaxed & friendly place to hone your craft

I joined Todays-Woman about a year and half ago and have found it a friendly and rewarding experience. Being able to post poems and stories and receive feedback from a peer group has only encouraged me to continue to write and I've found my skill levels and the quality of my work have improved with the passing months.

The members of our site are a very diverse group when it comes to writing levels and experience, and they are more than willing to give you their insight and help when or where it is needed. Along the way I have seen strong friendships form and grow, which isn't surprising when you consider the friendly relaxed feel that the site provides. You feel like grabbing a cup of coffee or tea and staying a while. To be able to read the beginning works of some who have gone on to publish Novels and books of Poetry can only inspire you to keep trying to get better at what you love and enjoy doing. The rules are simple but need to be followed to assure everyone is given a fair ch

A Joy To Be A Member

I became a member of Today’s Women Writing Community two years ago and found everyone to be so encouraging in the comments I received about my poems that I decided to concentrate on putting together a poetry book and try to get it published. Not an easy feat at the age of sixty-seven! To my surprise and delight I was accepted and published. I never would have attempted to do this had I not been a member of this site. I have visited other poetry sites and contributed to them, but this is the best! Good honest feedback, and what a delight to read so many accomplished poets and storywriters. Every new member will find it easy to navigate the site, submit their work, and then receive an E-mail with a direct link when they have comments. There is such a variety of poems, so many categories and you soon feel as though you know the poets personally. Another attraction of course is the facility to have the opportunity to submit your short stories. A wealth of talent is to be discovered here.

Writers would benefit from such a forum

Todays Woman enables like minded writers throughout the world to share their work, thoughts and constructive criticism with one another. It is a well run, hgh quality, safe, information packed site which welcomes new members, and I would recommend membership to writers who would benefit from such a forum. Excellent!' An accomplishment in itself

I've been a member of Today's Woman for almost a year now and have nothing but admiration, love and respect for its administrators and membership. The genuine honesty and caring within the community is infectious. I believe this is the main reason that everything works.  I find Today's Woman Writing Community is a great place to take off my shoes, sit back and relax. Whether ones looking for great short stories or excellent poetry by the many talented authors on the site to posting and reading outstanding articles by a multi-talented group of professionals there are few sites out there that compare.  At times I find myself so absorbed in the many areas that the site offers I lose all track of time. You might say that's quite an accomplishment in itself. I've a very limited attention span. I know that ranting and raving about how great the community is won't help convince anyone but the experience of seeing for oneself will. In closing I would like to thank Shawn and Rose DesRochers, T

With Much Appreciation For Rose!!!

After researching all the writing communities I could find on the Internet, I settled on Todays Woman. It was the right choice; because Todays Woman is more than a writing community it is a family of writers. At first I was very nervous about submitting my poetry and I was very unsure of myself. Since the beginning when I started with Todays Woman, I have grown into a confident writer and love to see what my fellow writers say in their comments about my poetry. Todays woman is a site with a diversity of writers and writing styles and I enjoy reading the work of others.

Rose, our administrator, is professional at all she does for Todays Woman and yet has a wonderful caring side that endears us to this very special person. I have nothing but the highest respect for Rose and the way she treats all of us who are part of this marvelous writing community.
