- The Rhode Island State Sheriff's Department is a statewide law enforcement agency under the Department of Administration. Our primary duties include Courthouse Security, Prisoner Transport, Executive Protection for the Judiciary, Apprehension and Extradition of Wanted Persons, and Service of Process.
