- In the winter of 2003, with the run-up to the US invasion of Iraq, citizen groups all over the country organized themselves to do something — anything, about the calamity being planned by their government. The Ruth Group was one of them. We have persisted as a group — out of friendship and frustration, out of a need to learn, to reach out to others, to participate in and nurture the true genius of this creation of democracy.
